A fly

Not a banana kind of fly, but still one of our small flying friends.

A little light

This picture is taken after the coldest day of this winter. So far.

Wallpaper

In case you've been wondering... The last picture is from our apartment. Adjacent to the kitchen there's a small room we call the breakfast room. Now the wall is painted boring white but this is what was found under a few layers of old wallpapers. Tall ships, an island with a palmtree, light pale colours. A source for daydreaming in a tiny room. In the 60's it has probably been a child's room. I deduced this from the layer of bright green wallpaper with big BIG elephants. I'll try to find a photo.

Ships of yore

Bananas, why bananas?

Bananas, why not? Just read that the bananas in Helsinki are the cheapest in the universe. Woody Allen has a film called "Bananas", but any other Allen film would have much more in common with this blog. Well, couldn't name it "Helsinki Manhattan" either...or maybe "Helsinki Annie Hall"? Bananas always bring in mind Josephine Baker. And Velvet Underground. And of course the placebo drug of our wasted youth. A banana is crazy, beautifully yellow, tastes good but goes bad easily. Like all the best things in life.
